MAG document drafts and feedback
The RST recently published an early draft of the Medical Appraisal Guide (MAG) core document in response to calls for early visibility of this guide as it continues to develop.
An updated version of the draft MAG for testing and piloting has now been published. This includes the text of the appraiser statements, along with some other clarifications.

At the time of publishing this early draft MAG, it was envisaged that it would be supported by two accompanying resources: a user guide and a Q&A resource, meaning the complete MAG might consist of three separate components.
During testing and other discussions with RST partners, pilot sites and other stakeholders, the final format of MAG is under review in order to provide maximum clarity and detail. This will also include a decision on the presentation of the format of any accompanying resource materials.
For now, the RST has not developed a MAG user guide or MAG Q&A. However, an explanatory resource for the pilot sites has been developed.
Experience within the pilots themselves will determine what place this finds in the final guidance, whether incorporated into the MAG core document, or as a separate resource.
